The aim is to make the user conscious about own way of breathing and of the airsupply of the body. To obtain this, the breathing prosess is visuallized through projection of the lungs, and the interaction of this is controlled by the user through a breathing sensor.&amp;nbsp;The main learning outcomes from this exhibit is knowledge and understanding, and attitude and values.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"&gt;–&lt;span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;Knowledge and Understanding&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"&gt;–&lt;span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;Attitudes and values&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"&gt;First we started to work on a very advanced and complicated animation using processing. The idea was to project the lungs and the exchange of gases through the lungs on the wall. This way the visitor or the user of the installation could see one of his/her vital body functions projected live on the wall.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_OXPDL1Bh8Sg/TAK7LvxO5RI/AAAAAAAABkA/3W4ne8K8PvM/s1600/IMG_0848.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"&gt;&lt;img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_OXPDL1Bh8Sg/TAK7LvxO5RI/AAAAAAAABkA/3W4ne8K8PvM/s320/IMG_0848.JPG" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"&gt;But we couldn't get further without help, so we started to work on Plan B. is walking down the stairs is getting a feeling of spring. We use an Arduino with ultra sound to sense if somebody is passing the stairs to trigger the animation. The arduino communicates with the processing code that lets the movie start to play. We projected a grid on the wall. This picture is taken from the point of the projector. It was a board to have under your laptop with two fans and two blue LEDs. I wanted to make an invitation where the wind of the fans was used.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I cut off the USB-port, and linked a 9V-battery and a switch to the connections wires. Then I glued a board underneath so that the electronics and the invitation package was protected.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I wanted to make an invitation to a parachute jump that was like a flying mini parachut, that would float in the fan wind when the card was turned on. But the wind was very mild, and no matter how I made the parachut construction and no matter how light the material was, it wouldn't float on the wind.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I tried out different other themes too, to make interaction and something happen when the fans were switched on. The light wind didn't acted as I had expected, and this exploration was quite frustrating. Palmtrees, chinese lanterns, circus etc.....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So in the end I had to be finish, and decided to make a sailboat. The fan wind was supposed to blow in the sails, and to remind the reciever about how it feels to be sailing in the soft breeze. It didn't turn out to be how I really wanted it to work. And as I was finish I understood that this concept didn't communicate the expectations of such a theme. Anyway.... The user gets to stand in front of the greenscreen and play the TV host of a selected program (weather, mgp etc.) Outside of this glass room a TV monitor is showing the recordings that has been done inside the studio.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;genre: learning/ experience tool.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The installation is placed in a center for experience at NRK together with several other installations. Most visitors are children. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The installation is built like an own room to give the users a feeling of beeing in a separate room where only the recording is what's going on. At the same time it is possible to look in and out through the class walls and for both both parts it is possible to see what is going on. It is perhaps also the intention, that others can watch a studio recording from outside.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The user motivation is about the chance to experience how it is to stand in front of a camera and play a TV host and to watch the recordings afterwards. A special feature on this installation is the possibility to play whit the greenwall function and make parts of the body dissapear into the background of the greenwall content on the real recording. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The enviroment is shaped like a TV studio, exept for the windows surounding it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Analysis of character - attributes and roles&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When the user first chooses the type of program he or she want to be a host in, he or she is representet through his/her finger touching the touchscreen and selects a program. After that the user is reperesented as him/her self recorded infront of a greenwall. The user takes the identity of an imaginary or real TV host, and it is up to the user to decide what he or she wants to do or how he or she wants to behave infront of the camera. The user him/herself must lead the progression of the content recorded, only helped though animated graphics of weather or a TV show.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The audiens is watching the user either from inside or outside of the glass room, or at the TV monitor outside of the glassrom where the user him/herself also is able to watch him/her self and then become a part of the audience him/her self.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The installations is an enviroment you can walk into an be a part of. It changes its screencontent over time acording to the menu choices for content the user selects. The content displayed on the Tv monitor outside is lagging a bit, just in time for the user to see the him/her self on the screen.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Analysis of the interaction&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The installation has a camera that detects a certain color of green. This makes the green background behind the user vanish and be replaced by the digital background of the selected program. The user is able to play with green textile pieces to make parts of his/her body dissapear on the screen. It is up to the user to vary the activity level. To get more out of the installation the user can move around and make gestures like a TV host infront of the greenscreen. But the user get no instructions. The installation invites and motivates the user to interact through the animated graphics shown on the recording screen and which the user should somehow relate to to get a realistic recording. Or to play with to make a funny recording. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The user understands that he or she is walking into a TV studio when he or she walks into the room and sees his/her own picture and the second screen when beeing infront of the camera and the greenwall. As the user selects the TVprogram, he or she will know how to behave to fit into the role infront of the camera, based on previous TV watching experience. The music and the graphics that the user recognizes is important.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Developments over time&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The different menu choices for different TV programs to be a host in, would make the user curious about trying out different roles. The fact that the user gets to see him/herself playing the role of a tv-host on the monitor outside almost directly after is trigging the experience.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;phases: explore the ambient (10-60 sek) - walk over to the info screen (10-60 sec)- choose porgram (10-60 sec) - perform infront of the camera (1-3 min) - at the same time look at her self on the second screen inside the studio - walk outside and watch (30-60 sec) - repeat&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Personal user experience&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I saw some other people from class doing something inside the classwalls of the installation, and walked inside. I watched to guys in class performing infront on the camera. Around the installation is lots of other installations.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Analysis of character - attributes and roles&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The user is first welcomed by an other TV host who we know from the news.The user have to write her name and to choose the part of the news program that he or she want to presen. He or she is representet through his/her finger touching the touchscreen and selects a program. Then the user get instructions about to practice a bit on what she is going to read, and to click on start when she is ready.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;After the user is reperesented as her own voice while reading. The user him/herself don’t have to lead the progression of the content recorded, because she is all the way helped though the text showing up in the mirror infront of the camera. It does not changes its screen content over time, but is selecting the recording point according to the menu choices for content the user selects. The content displayed on the TV monitor outside is going in loop. Depending on which part of the news the user have chosen, she has to wait until the program gets to this point before she can see herself. The latest recordings of each clip are shown, and the program is sent in loop.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Analysis of the interaction&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The installation has a camera, but you have to tell it to start recording by selecting “start”. The user has to be very quick and precise when reading the text showing in the camera mirror. The user is led by instructions all the way. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The installation invites and motivates the user to interact through the instructions to get a realistic recording in between the music and the TV graphics. The user can also play with making funny recordings. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The user understands that he or she is walking into a TV studio when he or she looks into the room and sees that it is instruction on the touch screen about what the user should do if she wants to play a news host. As the user selects the part of the TV program, he or she will know how to behave to fit into the role in front of the camera, based on the textual instructions and previous TV watching experience. The music and the graphics that the user recognizes is important to make the experience realistic.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Developments over time&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The different menu choices for different TV programs to be a host in, can make the user curious about trying out different roles. I want to focus on "including" as a core value for the concept.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;By now the Miniklanen has a blog driven mostly by the leaders and the parents of the members of miniklanen. The content is not directed to kids. One post searched for a new logo because they are developing a renewed concept for Miniklanen with a more limited agegroup and a new visual profil. I acctually don't know so much about this, that's why a contacted the writer of that post an asked about it. On Wednesday i am going to Vålerenga to have a meeting with her, the leader of the Miniklanene, and hopefully get a lot more info about it. We are facing lots of challenges according to the content and the way of interacting on the touchscreen wall. We have come to that only a little part of our concept is going to be programmed by the programmer on the Intermedia. The rest we have to make as flash-animations or show as stills. Here is an example of how the game part can work. This is a memory game that can be played by children, but also older people. Jan Pappelbaum er utdannet arkitekt, men har kun jobbet med scenografi for ulike eksperimentelle teaterscener siden har var ferdigutdannet på midten av 1990-tallet. Pappelbaum er naturligvis opptatt av scenen som rom rent arkitekturmessig, og problemstillingene dreier seg om å skape scenerom som tar publikum med inn i teaterstykket, og som på best mulig fremhever skuespillerne og stykkets forløp. I flere av teaterene Pappelbaum har arbeidet på har han hatt med enorme scenerom å og eksprimentelle medarbeideret å gjøre. Å være scenograf virker som et utrolig spennende og mangespektret yrke!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Selve utstillingspavillionen på museet er totalt forandret fra sist jeg så den, da jeg jobbet med Sverre Fehn-utstillingen. De store lyse vindusflatene er dekket til med svart lerret, og når man trer inn i dette mørke, mystiske utstillingsrommet møtes man med både lyd og film fra flere store og små skjermer. Jeg blir dratt inn i teaterets drømmeaktige verden...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;På søndag var jeg på omvisning (på tysk!) med Jan Pappelbaum og prosjektlederen Anne Marit Lunde (som oversatte) hva Pappelbaum på en inspirerende og sympatisk måte fortalte om arbeidet sitt. Pappelbaum var født i Dresden og vokst opp i Leipzig, og har studert til arkitekt på Bauhaus-skolen i Weimar. We managed to communicate the concept quite clear, we think.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The next task we got at 10:00 in this intensive workshop was then to develop the concept further and make it more presentable and convincing. We decided to make a video that was supossed to show how the Jewelry works. It's easy to concentrate on certain aspects, and through that totaly forget that many things isn't that obvious to others. We want to focus on showing the functions of listening/reading the message (sms + lyrics/song/guitar) from the bandmember and giving feeback (editing and commenting). On Wednesday we will start to program this in Flash.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is a lot to define and think about when designing a software. What kind of options should be possible in each step? What should we call them and where should we place them on the screen? Where should the user bed led by selecting it?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But going through the scenario step by step in the paperprototyping is really helpfull. First we are going to make an observation ("Self Ethnografy") of our own way of communicating with friends and family. How often and in which way am I argumenting, sharing content, consuming media and so on, and what type of media do I use?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The second task is to design a situated softeware for me and one or two of my friends/family/colleauges. It has to be made for a mobile with a touchscreen (iPhone f.ex.).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;"Sketching songs"&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My idea was to make a concept for the members (me and a friend of mine) within a singer/songwritergroup, enabling us to sketch, discuss and develop both lyrics, melodies and harmonies through this software.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In a busy everyday life it can be difficult to find the time to meet and work together with new songs. But that doesn't mean that we are stopping to make them! No, as a dedicated singer/songwriter you are writing as you are living, and the stream of poetic outcome is nonstopping. But the need for feedback is crucial. And it has to be quick.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The aim is therefore to develop a software that allows the users to quick and easy ( promissing word, i know) share sketches for both lyrics and sound, only using the technological features of an iPhone. The next two weeks I am working together with &lt;a href="http://processingofthoughts.blogspot.com/"&gt;Natacha&lt;/a&gt;, and we are going to design a proper sketch for this concept using paperprototyping and Flash-seqences (intro and actionscripting courses this and next week) to show at least how some of the functions could be working and looking. We are of course eager to develop a soultion for all sides of this concept, but during two week - impossible.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Today I am unfortunately only able to lie on my sofa loving Paralgin forte after removing  a &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;visdomstann&lt;/span&gt; this morning, and contributing on a painkillerscienceproject (tell me the rules of orddeling in english) at the hospital until now. To work with information architecture is really a challenge. We are going to design and document a concept for a TV-guide for a norwegian distributer of broadband, TV and telephone, who is hoping to seize customers in a saturated marked with this online TV-guide.
